At GTX Legal, we provide flat fee pricing with different service offerings, empowering you to select the level of service desired for your project at hand and budget. It’s not what you are used to, is it? The most common law firm pricing model is the billable hour. We used to operate under that model, but we think the legal industry could do better.
One of the most common complaints we hear about lawyers is that they have high billable rates, and when you engage them to do work, they won’t guarantee how long they will spend completing the project, so the client’s total cost is unknown until completion. Seriously?
Who buys something without knowing the total price? In any other context, the answer would be, “nobody!”
Yet, that is exactly what many lawyers are asking their clients to do every day when charging by the hour. Sure, some firms are willing to negotiate caps, but who wants to deal with those awkward conversations when the caps are almost reached but the project isn’t complete?
